Hi,

I have this family 1841 in Dumfries... parish Morton I am looking for them in later census.

I know Mother Margaret died 1868 & I have information on George after 1855. Nothing on the other children.

So any other information on this family would be great.

hi the head in 1861 is margaret age 73 widow the grandchildren are indeed kellock and maxwell all born morton.margaret was born in sanquhar the 1851 census is on line for dumfries and galloway if you google wigtownshire pages you will find the link.thers is no doubt the grandchildren are KELLOCK I have the copies
of the 1861 census

Thank you for the conformation and Site information.
Looking at the marriage of Georgina Kellock her Mother was Margaret Kirk her father is John Kellock who appears in 51 & 61 to be living with his parents Robert & Elizabeth Kellock which looks like west Morton St. I am not sure where he is after this.

I Haven't a clue where John Poole fits in to this family!

I did find a marriage for William Kirk & Janet Maxwell 1865 so maybe this is where Marion fits in.
On the 1861 census can you tell me if it gives Marion's Birth place as Calton?

Any chance of a look up for Marion after 1861 also John Poole after 1881?

Have found a birth for Marion it states Jane Maxwell for mother but no father.

There is a marriage for a William Kirk & Janet Maxwell in 1865 Dunscore Dumfries they have 5 Children ...Not sure if its my William who was born c1830.
