Hi Derek

Can you contact me? I am looking for Browns of Bethnal Green too. I have quite a few names and hae traced a lot but too many to mention on here. So may brothers and sisters and marriages but I could let you see my tree and have copies of census etc.

Tracey,

I found nothing concrete for either of them in 1891 census that I could match for definitively. I am only assuming from pure conjecture that they are London born originally. Even though there are only 4 lucy bland as a dughter born about the right time only 2 are London.

I think only Lucy Bland being 3 in 1891 census daughter of Lucy and Edward a greengrocer (?) at 8 Berghem(?) Mews, Hammersmith

Or theres a 2 year old in Libra Rd Bow daughter of a James a packing case maker and Emily

as for Benjamin Brown, well thats a different story! at least 20 records in 1891 for a son born around that time! But only 3 records for London

nearest poss match is son of Matilda and benjamin a silk weaver in Bethnal Green, but theres also Lambeth and shoreditch too

Hi Eliza,

I can't help at all on that one until I can come up with more than names for my dads lot, spose its possible he may have had a brother called George or even thats who Freddie could be if he went by his middle name.

Hi BROWN hunters

Really really stuck looking for anyone related to BROWN family of Bethnal Green, London from around 1900 to 1950's

Benjamin Brown (1891-1953) married Lucy Bland (1888-1968)

My father Leonard James Brown (1929-1998) possibly the youngest brother of about 8 had quite a few siblings some of whom didn't survive beyond childhood. The only names I have are:

Freddie and Benny (both older brothers that were only survivng siblings upto about 1979)
Charlie and James Gregory Brown (1920 - 1945)

I do not know anything of the brothers that died in childhood though maybe one may have been called Albert.

Apart from this I have so far drawn a complete blank I also know nothing of my grandparents aside from their names. If anyone could help please contact me
