Same family 1891 where somebody in their wisdom has suggested Billington as the surname but it is the name of Jane Toft's husband.

On the 1891 census someone has added the name Matilda Billington to Matilda Toft's name. That is not right. If you look at the original, it's her sister Jane who was married to James Billington and they had 2 children, Maud 2 and Emma 3 months.

That should read "Toft" as maiden name not Matilda. My apologies!

Jane Toft on the 1891 census is actually Jane Billington, wife of James. She is the daughter of Matilda Toft (age 52, Head, grocer). It appears that Matilda is her maiden name.
