Frances Report 4 May 2008 18:56

In 1881 Fairwell Dungworth age 8 is a pauper in the Sheffield Union Workhouse. There is also a William Henry Dungworth age 11 pauper but no other family. I am assuming they are brothers...

Births Dec 1869
Dungworth William Henry Sheffield 9c 307

Does William show up in the 1871 census with parents please?

Many thanks,
Frances

Further searching has me thinking that this Henry 1845 married Ellen Kenyon in 1867 and they had a daughter Lucy that same year.
Do Ellen Dungworth and Lucy show up in 1871 - masquerading under a mis-transcibed name.
Has anybody got the clever eyes to spot this please?

Many thanks Frances

Thanks Tracy, your find bears out my guess that Ellen and her daughter Lucy were staying with her parents.
Does it show Ellen as married or widowed please?

Thank you for your kind offer, Can you help me with my Sarah

Sarah Keys born in Ireland around 1867

I am trying to find out where Sarah came from. She was married to Edward McCann. They lived in Port Glasgow at the time. They married there in 1891.

According to her marriage cert her father was Matthew keys and her Mother was Mary keys nee St.Laurence, both from Ireland I believe..

What part of Ireland did they come from? How can I find that information. I would be grateful for any leads.

Many thanks

Well, dang it! I learned my lesson there. I usually use the first 3 letters (dun*) but they changed the Dung to Dang!
