Have just established that a relative married the daughter of a German born naturalised British subject. He appears to have been one of a boatload from the same family who came to England in the early 1800's.

Virtually every family member has 3 forenames so where's the problem?

Without exception all of them used any one of their given names at census time so Frederick in 1861 might be John in 1871, and Theodore in 1881. As for YOB, forget it.
