	I have recently discovered that John Couper is my Gt Grandfather but I know nothing about him. If anyone has any information, no matter how small, I would be pleased to hear from you. I believe his father was also John Couper born 1839 in Carluke. He was the manager of a mine and John jnr was a Limestone miner. Family legend has it that he emigrated to the US but this is unconfirmed.
