Richard Strachan married Mary Anne Johanna Roeszler at St John's Church, Waterloo in 1852 and from census info their children were

Richard Strachan 1856
Alice Strachan 1860
Henry Strachan 1862
Mary Ann Strachan 1869
Emma Strachan 1871

I believe Richard the younger was publican at the Thatched House pub in Leytonstone at one time and had at least two children - Richard and Gladys (born c1894 and 1900).

I believe Alice and Emma ran a dressmaking business in Clerkenwell and on the 1901 census their nephew 'Joseph Francis' aged 6 is with them. Maybe he is the son of Mary Ann.
