James ELLIOT(T), miner, b. County Monaghan (C.1828) moved to Scotland (found in 1851 census). M. Isabella REID in Scotland (1853/4), had son, John, and emigrated to Sth. Australia 1857 (my g.g'father David Henry Moore ELLIOTT, was born on the voyage). Moved to Vic., then NSW. James died 1888 in Hamilton (Newcastle) NSW. The family had at least 8 chn., the last (that I can find) Mary Ellen b. 1876, Lambton (Newcastle). Can anyone help with info., especially regarding the family in Ireland?
