Member Since: May 2005 Posts: 27 Send Message	Alexander McWilliam was born January 1863 in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire to single mother Mary McWilliam. She had 3 children before she married Matthew Donnachie. Alexander appears on the 1871 Lanark census along with his brother Walter (my great grandfather) with the surname of Donnachie. Walter went on to change his name to Brown, after his alleged father, but I don't know what happened to Alexander. Did he emigrate? Did he change his name? Is there somebody out there with an Alexander causing them a dead end, because they can't find his birth? I may have the answer....
