Thanks for that Ann, I found that and have orderd the birth cert to gain more info as it does not match with what I have been told - however there is some mystery around his birth and why he was bought up/adopted by his Aunt.

Thanks for you help

Hi there I am desperately trying to get re-united with David Evans (believed to be born David Smith) DOB 03/02/1955.

I have discovered that his family is listed in several trees here so I am hoping there is an outside chance of a living relative that could help me.

I am led to believe he was born to Beryl Smith (nee Syms) and bought up by Hilda Evans (nee Syms - Beryl's sister) in Ferndale Mid Galmorgan, although it is possible he was actually born in England.

He was married to Janet Evans (nee Anthony) in feb 1979 and resided in West Drayton Middlesex at this time, later on in Hayes middlesex until at least 1991. He and Janet were divorced in 1992.

I know he may not be known as who he once was, that is all I will say as if anyone reading this knows him they will probably understand from that alone.

On the remote chance someone reading this knows of him, it is important that he realises I have no interest in past problems within the family, I am looking for a clean slate or at least closure on the issue. I hold no grudges and those who may have done are now all passed on, my mother includined. I have no intention of causing hurt or problems, I just need very badly to know for sure what my father feels/thinks of me. He is now a grandfather 4 times over between my sister and I and if thought of often especially by myself. Even moreso with my wedding coming up later this year, I miss him so much. He may not realise, but I do remember him although I was only 5 when he and my Mother separated.

Thanks so much for reading this and if anyone can help at all in anyway, even if it is bad news, please please do get in touch.

Jennifer
