1901 Census states Eliza Moody (59) profession as Artificer, Royal Navy. Does any know what this means pls?

William Moody (59) was a retired Chief, engine room. He was born in London Poplar, she was born in Portsmouth Southampton.

Does anyone know how I can find their marriage records, also if they had children.

They lived at 23 Bedford Street, Portsmouth. Ecclesiastical Parish: St Stephens

From dates of birth both born 1842 I think

Hopefully if did have children one might just be Frederick William Moody, my grandfather.

Thank you Reggie. Very complicated family history, my BM vanished, lots of adoptions (found one half-sister), feels 'hot' lead - we've never been sure if she's the Irene M Moody from Portsmouth, mother = Keys.

I don't know how you do it, but thank you everyone.

More likely marriage for William and Eliza, seeing as Thomas was born in London. Bethnal Green is same area as Poplar.
