I've found charles turner in the census - it matches the home address i have on josephs birth cert - 83 burnley road, briercliffe, burnley. charles was born in 1883, so he was around age 46 when he had joseph, i just wasn't thinking that far back. thanks for all your help everyone. |

I have done a search on charles turner and found one born in burnley in 1890. I know from Josephs birth cert that charles was a cotton weaver. |

Ooh, now that's interesting!! I wasn't thinking about going that far back because that means she would have been around 36 years old when she had Joseph and I didn't think it was the norm to have children that late back then. |

Thanks everyone for your help, I think i will have to order the marriage certificate to find out. I believe it to be Hannah and Charles in Burnley because their sons were born in Burnley too. The eldest son Joseph might be my dads or his sisters dad! It's very confusing because my dad was adopted. |

Marriage cert should tell you names ages occupations, plus fathers names ans occupations. |
