Is anybody researching ancesters / descendants of George H Barber, he was the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent 1929 - 1930.

I have found some information but cannot be sure of its' accuracy:
born 1860 registered Congleton Cheshire
1861 Buglawton Cheshire age 11 months
1880 married Caroline Hollinshead
1881 Milton Norton In Moors Staffs age 21 Coal Miner
1891 Talk O the Hill Staffs age 30 Gas Stoker

I believe a descendant is John Thomas Barber who lived in Staffordshire and died 1962. His wife's name was May and her maiden name was possibly Moore

Any help would be appreciated. Any hints on researching Lord Mayors?
