Hi Kate, I am Martin Turner and live 4 miles out of Halifax. I have not much info on this branch, my dad is dead and my mother has forgotten most names. I maybe on the wrong branch here but Studley was my grandfather and died 23rd. March 1946. He married Eva Cobb on 27th. Sept. 1913. She was born 7th. April 1886. Eva (my grandma) had 2 sisters, Mary and Evelyn. Mary had a daughter,Violet. Violet married an American and went to live in California and had 3 or 4 children.
Maybe one of these is you? Do let me know if this is on the right track and if so whether you want to go out on this branch, as you say it is a large tree!!.
Best regards
Martin

Hello, everyone! Since joining GR, I have found a member or two of my family, on the Turner side. I was just trying to see if there were others out there! The families are so big that SOMEONE else has to be interested in genealogy, you know?
The farthest back that I have gone in my research is James Turner (though I don't know too much about him yet) and Amos, his son. Amos was born in circa 1808 in Northowram, Halifax. The family had one or more houses on Lee Lane (Northowram) over a span of 50-60 years.
Charles (b. 1847) was Amos' son, and he married Ann Edwards. My great-granddad was Rowland Turner (b. 1878), and he had numerous brothers and sisters, including Edgar, Oscar, Studley, and Norman. There were others, too.
If anyone has any info or thinks they may be related to me, please write to me.

Thanks,
Kate Turner
