Trying to find the original line of William Bassett who may have been born in Aust, but probably migrated to the gold areas around Bendigo, Victoria; namely, Dunolly, Sandy Creek, Talbot or Eaglehawk. Willliam married a Melbourne born girl, Jane Cray b1833, their chldren were mainly born in the Sandy Creek or Dunolly area of Vic. Williams parents were Samuel Bassett and Elizabeth Carter (b around 1805-10) and they probably remained in England. I would love for any info that can shed some light on this line of the Bassetts. Many thanks Rosie D. |
