Does anyone know what happened to Charles Bernard Maxwell. He is my partner Bevs Grandfather and was born circa 1897. According to Bevs father he lived in the Manchester area. He had an electrical engineering background and we think was in their family businness. He had 2 sisters one of whom had a crippled leg. He had a child named Kenneth Hugh (my partners father), with Emily Wrench when he was about 27 and she was 19 on 1st July 1924. He was an accomplished violinist and would often play for them. Emily lived in a poor area of Longsight. Charles never married her, maybe due to family pressure, but he did visit them for the first 4 years or so of Kenneths life. He then dissapeared. She married Harold Sharp 3 years later who adopted Kenneth. Thats about all we know about him after Emily married she didnt speak about him and she died when Kenneth was 20. |
