Hi I have a death certificate for James Macfarlane died 25th july 1868 address 35 Gloucester Rd Pancras The subdistrict is Regents Park and the county is Middlesex. I also have the marriage cert for his daughter Maria agnes isabella Macfarlane to Ferdinand Himeley. the address given is also 35 Gloucester Rd Pancras. What I want to know is who is living at this address in 1871. Does anyone have a clever idea as to how to find an address in a census. I would also like to find an 1871 record for Annie Gibbs who notified James death she gave her address in 1868 as 27 North Audley St Grosvenor Square. Thanks Tania

Where was Maria born and how old was she when she married?
Have you found this family on earlier census records?
Who was James' wife?
Where was James born?

Thankyou Nicki and Joan, that is brilliant. James Macfarlane was born in Scotland in 1798. he was a wealthy merchant who set up business in the West Indies. he had a family as a young man,his wife died and he remarried and had 4 daughters to a woman 20 yrs his junior called Marie Louise Honorine gaillard De Laubenque. All the girls were called Marie and were known by there second names. The eldest was born in St Lucia, the second in london and the last 2 in France. Marie Agnes Isabella was born in france in 1855 That census result is brilliant,as it confirms a piece of my puzzle. The James in the census is actually his nephew James son of his brother John,he was also james the elders son in law as he was married to his daughter Anna Maria Flora. Anna Maria Flora died in 1862 after having Flora Elizabeth and he remarried to a woman Elizabeth. he was executor of James the elders will, which is why he would have been living in his house and had Marie Agnes Isabella living there as both her parents were dead( her mother died in France in 1858) Thanks heaps again Regards Tania

Thankyou Wayne /tracy joan and Nicki. It looks like we all cross posted. I think I am good for now, this has been a hard family because they were really mobile between London France and St Lucia but I have a lot of diary notes and there was a book with a lot of info in about them so it is falling in to place. I know where to come to with my next question though LOL Regards Tania
