All I can suggest is trial and more trial, keep looking at all the possibles, and eliminate the ones that dont tick all the boxes for you, if the folks are in the places that you expect them to be living, with the right partners and the right children- look for unusual names that often helps.Although all the rules dont necessarily fit every time you get a feel for it, a kind of 6th sense.Look at all the possible censuses,the BMD's, cross reference the names, and if most of it fits , then possibly you are there Good Luck anyway Carmen |

I have now located that John and Sarah Hayes were James's parents, so therefore my great great great grandparents! |

Harrys parents are definately James and Annie Hayes, as in the 1901 census, there is opnly 1 harry hayes in Shropshire and on his marriage cert his fathers name is James. |
