I'm looking for a record of a death of Sarah Symons, daughter of Julian and Kathleen Symons, between 1975 and 1980. Sarah was born around 1950, and lived in Battersea.

Hi Alistair,

I did this search for you a little while back and drew a blank. Do you know yet whether Sarah may have married before her death as her death isn't registered under the surname Symons.

I've looked from 1975 to 1980 and can't find her. I too wondered if she may have been married and therefore registered under a different name. What makes you think she died between those dates?

Hi Deb and Kathleen

I read in Julian Symons' obit in the Telegraph (1994) that his (only) daughter had predeceased him.

I know she was alive in 1975. It's possible she may have married.

Julian was a well known author.

If he was a well known Author, have you tried Wikipedia?

His life and works, and maybe his family may well be listed?

Julian Gustave Symons, writer: born 30 May 1912; FRSL 1975; married 1941 Kathleen Clark (one son, and one daughter deceased); died 19 November 1994.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years and a son, Mark.

There's no sign of her death at all. I don't really know what to suggest next.......................this is quite a mystery, isn't it!

She was obviously from an affluent family.... there is nothing to say she didn't go abroad and die there?
