I AM TRYING TO TRACE ANY DESCENDANTS OF LEWIS WOLFE LEVY, DIED 1885, OF TAMWORTH, NEAR SYDNEY.
HE HAD 11 CHILDREN, ONE OF WHOM WAS LOUIS TAMWORTH LEVY WHO FOUGHT IN THE BOER WAR WITH DISTINCTION AND WAS LATER IN THE MONTGOMERYSHIRE YEOMANRY AS A CAPTAIN.
LOUIS STAYED IN UK AND MARRIED VIOLET GLADYS AKERMAN BUT WAS MADE TO CHANGE HIS SURNAME. HE DROPPED LEVY AND TOOK TAMWORTH AS HIS LAST NAME.
IT IS THOUGHT THAT HIS 10 SIBLINGS STAYED IN OZ AND KEPT THEIR JEWISH FAITH.
I WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY INFORMATION. THANKS
