I have been at Genealogy off and on since about 1982 but I have yet to find the Birth Registration of my paternal Grandfather, Frederick Charles Taylor who was born 22nd July 1885 in Bedminster (Somerset) or maybe Bristol (Glos). I have him in all the relevant censuses and have also found all the siblings. I even have his baptismal record - this was conducted when he was about 7 years old. I even have family photographs which confirm that he was very much part of the family. |

if the only way you have his date of birth is from his army records and you're saying he lied about his age, then it is probably after 1885, do you have a marriage certificate with his age on? |

the only other one seems to be reg. in 1887 a/m/j keynsham 5c 661. but not sure he would have got away with an age difference of nearly 2 years. |

Sorry forgot (away from home at the moment so full records not in front of me) - the dob is also on his baptismal record but he wasnt baptised till he was aged about 7 years. Have applied for the Keynsham one just in case. |
