Trying to find the PARENTS of JAMES DENHOLM, born c 1808, in Scotland, probably Midlothian but could be Lanarkshire (or somewhere else). He married in 1839, ELIZABETH ORMISTON, probably at Traquair Peeblesshire. His first 2 sons were born at Traquair: GEORGE, 1840; JOHN, 1842. Then the family moved to Borthwick, Midlothian, where James was a farm servant at Loquhariot. 2 more sons were born: JAMES, 1844; WILLIAM 1846. All the children were baptised at Borthwick.
By the 1851 census Elizabeth was a widow, still living at Loquhariot with the 4 children.
There was also a WILLIAM DENHOLM, grieve (farm steward) at Loquhariot, married to JANET TEMPLE. Was William (born c 1803) James's brother?
Any information on this family will be gratefully received.
