I think this might be John Corby Jnr - again, he is in some kind of institution - the census lists him as a "Boy in Training": |

I have Richard Wingrove Corby born 18 August 1889 Newcastle.. (He emigrated to Australia in 1923). As I had his exact date of birth I was able to look on the front page of genes where they list the census years and input his name, year of birth etc. and only one came up that matched. I was then given the details by a member on here. They are: 71 Tamworth Road, Elswick, Newcastle - John Corby 37, Jane 25, Rebecca 5, John 4, Richard 1 and Mary Shepherd 17 (sister in law). I was highly delighted. Not only had I got his fathers name but his wife's surname as well. I have the discs for 1881 and grabbed them quick to follow up on this BUT whichever person I tried to follow up on just did not help. I could not locate MaryShepherd (who would have been 7) , I found a Jane as a servant, could not find father John Corby who would have been abt 27 so I am at a loss. How do I now locate either John Corby or his wife's Shepherd family. I can only think that perhaps some of them would show on 1901 census when they would be John 47, Jane 35, Rebecca 15, John 14 and Richard 11. Has anyone any other brilliant ideas as to how I solve this ? Thanks you. |
