The reason i prefer FreeBMD is you can click on the registration district and it shows you what is covered |

No Ancestry won't tell you what is on the certificate, but you can use the census to cross ref everything, say like if you get Lilians M/C & dad is down as John and is a Carpenter..then you can look on the census for that info |

Yup, I've been on there, am now going to sort my note book out - could get confused with these names and dates - also really need to jot down the site that I have got the information from - keep going backwards and forewards and then forget where I saw what! |

It's wierd, when i put nan's date of birth in - nothing and have tried all conotations of her name!! This Lilian S seems to be the right age - would I be able to order a certificate if i don't know her parents names? |
