I am trying to find a William Carter and his daughter Mary Ann Carter. I cant seem to find them on any census. I have her marriage cert for 1880 and states her age as full. On her sons birth certificate it says she was born in Kentish Town.
thanks in advance.

What was William's occupation?

Who did Mary marry?

Where was the son born?

Reg

William was a labourer
Mary married a John Myers (father deceased on cert)
Son, George was born in Islington

I asked about the son's birth, because I've never known an English birth cert to give details of the mother's birthplace.............I thought he'd been born in a different country.

'Deceased' father on marriage certs sometimes means that the person was illegitimate........not always, of course.

Reg,
William was Marys father and was labourer
| only know she was born in Kentish Town because I can find her on the 1891 census.

Reggie,
How can I apologise! I have misread the census date. Its 1891 the same as you have just posted. I am truly sorry.
I still cant find her before she was married though with her father?

Reg
thanks!
Thanks for the 1881 info.
Do you think you could help me with finding her (Mary Ann Carter) before she got married so I might be able to find out her mothers name?

Reg
It says her residence was Bethnal Green, Middlesex
Witnesses: Jane Sharplef/Henry Whaffen
I must say the writing is very bad and the surnames are barely recognisable.
