Just to mention that Sydenham and Forest Hill are next door to each other and both are now in the London borough of Lewisham.

Lewisham used to be in Kent but is now part of Greater London.

I have already got a copy of the marriage certificate and Minnie was shown as age 26 on 25th December 1906. However finding a minnie godfree born around 1880 proved fruitless. A message yesterday stated a Minnie Godfree registered born Mar 1882 in Lewisham and thats probably right. have now requested birth cert. From the marriage cert i know her father was Daniel Godfrey (Godfrey/Godfree) who was deceased and he was a cabinet maker

Is there a quick way of finding death or is it a case of looking at every quarter year as have no idea of the year involved.

Searching for a death when you have no idea of a time frame is very time consuming. There will be several deaths for a Minnie Church and you won't know which is the correct one unless you have her age. You need to order the marriage cert.

Thanks to all for the information. As a result I have requested 2 more birth certificates to try and obtain more details.

It was Frederick George not Frederick Ginger Church. Thanks for that too.

If the Minnie Godfree born in Lewisham in 1882 is the correct one and I think it could well be can anyone find any death details. She married Frederick Church in 1906.

What was Minnie's maiden name? You should be able to find their marriage and get their ages and fathers.

Have obtained a birth certificate showing dob 02.07.1912. The parentage proves he would have been my mothers brother but I cant find anything else about him eg did he get married and is he deceased.
My mothers parents were Frederick and Minnie Church and I dont know what happened to them either. I don't have confirmed dates of birth for them.

Any helpers out there?
