Born 1810c Turiffe Aberdeen Scotland, married Anne Coughlan in Waterford Ireland 1832c. She was born in 1817c Waterford to James and Ann Coughlan.George enlisted in the 65th (Yorkshire Nth Riding) Regiment on the 11/3/1824 Enl. No 318)
In 1864 the regiment came to NZ on the Sir Robert Peel. George went to Sydney on the HMS Virago where the headquarters of the 18th Regiment were stationed:without his family and died suddenly 4/6/1870 at No 13 Margaret St Sydney. His family stayed in NZ But his wife may have been buried with her husband as there is no record of her burial here in NZ only her death. Does this history sound like part of yours. I would love to hear from you if this is so,
