Hello Kath, think we've spoke before :-)) Its kind of you to offer. The ladys ancestor was James Hamilton (birth unknown but c1880) born East Rainton, Houghton le Spring, Tyne & Wear. Son of John (a miner) and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was born in Sherburn, Durham. Thats all she knows! |

I've found 2 John Hamilton's in Durham on the IGI who married Elizabeths but no way of knowing which, if any, is correct. James birth isnt there. |

Thankyou Kath, I'll get to work printing out what I can. I think she'll show it her mother too, who is very elderly, so that'll be nice for her. |

This is only a guess as there are 8 Elizabeths born in 1860 +/- 1 year in Sherburn, but I think this one is a possibility as her father is called James (maybe her son was named after him) and she is living in East Rainton in 1871:- |

Has anyone ever told you that you should do this for a living!! I'll leave Elizabeth and John's marriage and Elizabeths life before marriage off, as I'll be giving her the tree tonight. I dont know if she'll order the cert but she'll be over the moon with this, thanks a million. |
