Hi Siobhan

Long shot but my partner's great grandfather's sister is on the 1901 census as an Actress so not sure if she will be there or not but her name was Ethel Nellie Dishman - and her married name was Garrett - wife of Edward Lovell Garrett.

Frederick Leonard - there is a mention of him performing at Clarence Pier in Portsmouth on 3 May 1917 also a mention of him in "A diamond robbery" at Bury Hippodrome on 8 March 1917.

Nothing for Euginie Parini.

No idea - the only person who remembers anything about her just remembers her being very over the top - all I know is that she was down on the south coast in 1901 before she married all the way up in Liverpool later that year.

Never mind! Thought it would be a long shot anyway!

This is a very very long shot so not expecting anything at all but ...

My great aunt married a chap called Michael Keegan - he was born in Liverpool in the 1890s - and - "he had a brother who was an actor". I know it's not a lot to go on but if you spot anything that might give me an idea of a name or a clue of some sort ... would be pathetically grateful.

unfortunately there are pages and pages for the surname keegan, without a first name it would be impossible to trace.

Hi Jill, if order the marriage cert for Michael Keegan and your great aunt, it will then give you Michael's father name, which will narrow it down for you and make it easier to trace his birth and find him on the census. Once you have him on the census, it should be easy to find out his brother's name.

I hope I am not to late for this request. My husbands grandfather was a Duncan Mcvicar who went by the stage name of Joe Wesley. He died in 1922 and was famed for bringing the minstrals to Scotland. If you could find anything for him I would be over the moon.

Hi Julie,

there are various appearance at theatres from the 1890s to the 1920s across the country, infact there are quite a few pages, which would take too long for me to go through and my pass runs out in less than a hour. It might be worth your while purchasing a pass when the site goes live, or buying the stage magazine for a 24 hr free pass.

However I have picked up some stuff for you.

He is described in one appearance as a comedian and dancer.

There is also an advert placed in 1916 by himself in where he is looking for Revues, Plays and good combs. He gives his address as 76 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow.

there is then a letterbox advert in 1917 informing him he has mail to collect.

sometimes there are obituaries, but I can't find any for him.

Siobhan, if possible could you look for Alfred Wallis
1862-1903 born Huddersfield married Caroline Charlotte Fenton in 1886 in Kent. They are both down as Actor/Actress as is her mother also called Caroline Fenton

Hi Jennifer, my pass ran out earlier today.

Although you can do a free search, you just can't view the page without a pass. There was nothing ocmng up for Alfred Wallis, it is possible they had stage names though.
