As with many families, the Vincents scattered after 1840. There were many just down the road in Dewlish and they emigrated to Wangaratta. My gggrandfather ended up in Sunderland and then Stockton. another lot came from t'other side of village in Folke. George could belong to either (or both!). There are almost no Chamberlains around so she is likely to be an outsider.
Rebecca could be the same or a daughter. I'll dig into the census for '41 and '51.
Thanks for your help.

Rebekka Chamberlain married George Vincent in Melcombe Horsey, Dorset on 13 February 1837. Their son James was born there in 1814. George died there in 1838.
I can't find any Chamberlain births or deaths from 1690 onwards in Melcombe Horsey so it is possible that Rebecca came from elsewhere.
I would welcome any message that might enable to illuminate this obscure branch of my family tree. Rebecca is my g-g-g-grandmother.
Greetings to all fellow addicts.
