Trying to find Daniel Murphy

Hi all

I'm trying to trace a Daniel Murphy, however have very limited information in regards to him.

What I do know (and none of this is 100% confirmed)
He was born in Ireland c1827
He migrated to America c1850 before arriving in Australia
He died in South Australia - no record of death can be found

These facts have been confirmed........
He married Ellen Connor b.1827 Kildare Ireland, they married in 1853 at Mount Barker South Australia.
Ellen arrived in Australia aboard the Constance in 1850 along with her brother William.
Daniel & Ellen had 5 children
Michael b.1854
Mary b.07/05/1857
Richard b.02/01/1859
Jeremiah b.06/07/1860, d.31/05/1876
John b.17/01/1863, d.1939

Does anyone have any hints on how to search for such a common name.

Would appreciate any help.
