Find Ancestors

Zillah Moseley born c1881 Leicester. She married John Norman (1881) also from Leicester.
I know nothing about her prior to her marriage.

Could somone please take a look for her in the 1891 & 1901 census??

I can't see a birth for her on Freebmd, but can see her marriage in 1903.

The nearest birth is Zillah Noseley but in 1877 in Nottinghamshire

No sign of a birth reg'n on freebmd........what is the source of your info about her year and place of birth?

You will need to buy the marriage cert, to find out her declared age, and the name of her father. Perhaps Moseley was not her maiden name.............

Hi

I got her name & d.o.b (c) via a 'relative's tree on this site today.
They had her married to John Norman ( I was looking at the Norman family from Leicester).
Johns parents were: John Norman (1861) & Sarah Fowkes (1863).
All are from Leicester - perhaps its worth looking for John in 1901? - it may give us some more clues?

You could have found her ( hadnt expected Yorkshire) - if pos can someone take a lokk for her husband John Thomas Norman in the 1901 census as it will probably give her place of birth there & that would confirm it.

The marriage was in 1903.............they were not married when the 1901 census was taken

Ooop's Thanks Reg .....your right, they married in 1903, so she wont be with John on the 1901 census.

I suppose, it may be worth a look though, you never know, she may have been living with the family??? Or, John may have been living with her family?

Yorkshire is a no go, I've found a death in 1882 Dec 1/4 for Keighley....sorry,

I'm with Reggie on this one.....there are a few different spellings out there and all over the country.....the marriage cert would help clarify!

Yep....does look tricky.I will ask my relative if they have the marriage cert, although I didnt see any details of it oon their tree.

I will also see what else I can find out about John Norman, his dad ( also John) & his mum Sarah Fowkes. - see where they are in 1891 & 1901.
