Francis Joseph Butler married Florence Alice Huggins 1913 oct norwich.Daughter Frances lydia born 13 april 1914.On her birth certificate his occupation Private 12th Lancers.He died 21.1.1967 aged 80.Norwich.His middle name Zavier on death certificate.I wonder if any one can find a birth.Husbands grandfather ,so cant move forward without this one.Thankyou.Kay

he should be on FreeBMD , and the 1901 census

If you havent the marriage cert then his dad will show on it for ref back to the 1901

His military record, which doesn't seem to be on Ancestry, and probably should be, if it survived, as they have put the "B" surnames on, might be at National Archives if he served pre WW1. If it is there, it should give year and place of birth, but not actual date. It wouldn't be online - you'd have to go there, or get someone to go for you.

Hi Ann.Thanks For that,seems thats what I have to do.Have had a lot of help on the boards,but cant seem to find him.Actual date wouldnt matter to much,as long as i could get year and place.Husbands grandfather,so he is direct line.He did serve pre-war and i know where he was stationed in 1913.Perhaps,that might help when i visit Kew.Thanks again for your help.Kay
