Hi Sarah:

Just checked in here for a moment (on my way to work)...thank you very much for your lookups! I'm almost sure that's him in 1881; he immigrated in 1889 (to Canada) and was a carpenter in Canada. Even had a couple of patents. The considerate man had two of my rellies sign as witnesses on the patent papers. :)

YES!! (I'm shouting - can you hear me?) :))))

James Mumford, my brickwall ancestor, was born in Hatfield, England. I've been looking for his parents/siblings (and proof of the connection ) since I was in college, 30 years ago (off and on, of course)!!!!!!!! It's a lonnngggg story, but seeing Mary Ann's birth in Hatfield confirms that we've finally confirmed James' family. (I know it doesn't make sense, but it does to me.)

Thank you all (including Kathryn) so much for your help!!!!! 30 years and I can now say I have finally found James' family!

(May I meekly ask if anyone can find Mary Ann possibly living with Martha Mumford (b 1800) in 1851? Possibly in Fyfield, Essex? (If so, I'm praying Mary Ann's birthdates match up.)
