	This is just a very long shot. Perhaps John is John Sr's stepson and mother Eleanor was married before? (Therefore John jr. christened with a different surname). There's a fair gap between Douglas and John Jr. Also if Eleanor is the mother of all the children she would have been very young when the first one was born (though not impossible). There are several marriages on Freebmd of a John Robson to an Eleanor around the 1838-1840's.

Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 159 Send Message	Hello All Looking for the birth or baptism of my 3x grandfather John Robson he was born around 1840 possibly in the Hetton-le-Hole, Sunderland area, his parents could be John Robson and Eleanor Urwin. his birth is not registered I have had all the John Robson's in county Durham and Northumberland checked, there is also no sign of a Baptism. 1841 Census Pemberton St, Hetton Eleanor Robson age 30 Robert aged 13 born Newcastle Mary Ann age 9 born Norton co Durham Elizabeth age 8 born Norton Douglas age 5 born Newcastle John age 1 born? I have all the above baptisms except John 1851 Census 20 Neasham Sq Sunderland John Robson age 46 born Corbridge Eleanor age 41 born Byker John age 11 born Sunderland Margaret age 10 born Sunderland(she was born in Hetton i have birth cert) Armstrong age 8 born Hetton Thomas age 3 months born Sunderland John Robson born 1840? was a seaman and married Eleanor Ann Hall in Jan 1860 he gave his age as 22 on his marriage cert and said his father was John Robson a Joiner by trade. John died in May 1865 age 26 as a result of an Accident, the parish records stated he was 25. unless I can find his birth or baptism I will never know for sure who his parents were. maybe someone can help.
