Where did you come from Mary Petiffer Smith???

My grandmothers mum was Mary Petiffer Smith c1864. Where did she originate from. I believe England. She married Alexander Hugh Cahill. They immigrated to NZ c1886 and settled in Feilding in the North Island. Thye had four children and Mary was pregnant with their fifth child when Mary's first husband died then she remarried a de Manser and eventually went to live in Te Aroha. Mary's dad was a Petiffer Smith as was her brother a Petiffer Smith. Petiffer was Mary's middle name although at some stage it must have come from a surname somewhere in the family |
