Hi, have a 'missing' Gt.Uncle - Alfred Matthews born to a James and Louisa (nee Marsh) in Margaretting, Ingatestone Essex - around 1890, - he is brother of my paternal Grandfather who was a Charles, born 1895 and their older brother Herbert born around 1888 - their Mother died in 1909 and all we know is that my Grandad and Herbert went into the army and when they came out settled in Billericay in Essex where they both died - my Dad and his siblings only ever knew of this Uncle being referred to as Rob or Bob (heavens know why as I can't find any one in family with that name) and they believe he went 'up North' if anyone knows of someone fitting in with this story please email |
