Hi! I am just beginning research into my family tree. My mother was Winifred Thompson and she was born in Tipton Dudley in 1919. She had a sister Eva who was about 13 years older than her, two brothers one named Stanley (he was the youngest brother) and a small sister who died when very young. My mum was put in a convent when her mother died while still quite young. My mother went to live with her sister eva for a time then later married my dad Frederick Dolan and they settled in Birmingham My grandfather on my mothers side later remarried and had a son John (I think that this was his name). My grandfather was still in the family home in Tipton at the time of his death at about 95years of age. I have a photo of him which my mum passed on to me and this is about all. I never met John who would be my mum's half brother but I think this was because there was a slight rift in the family about my gradfather's second marriage. Any information would be welcome. Thank you valerie |
