Missing Thomas Barugh

Sorry, made a mistake. I am looking for Thomas Barugh, born in Kirk Levington, 1838, married Mary Emma Ranson in 1867, in Middlesborough and had two children Jasper Josepha nd Sarah Elizabeth. So far, so good.
Then, he seems to have left his place of work (iron works or bank or railway as a weigh clerk) and went to Australia, rather under a cloud. He was never heard of again, his wife did not follow and other family researchers cannot find any evidence of his arrival in Aus.
No one in the family seems to have any idea of what happened to him. Does anyone else know or have any ideas where we might look?
