Leathen

I have deleted the information from this posting as JaneyCanuck was irritated by it and found it difficult to read.

You can view the contents, properly laid out in Janey's thread at

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1241362

My apologies Leathen, if you too found the information difficult to read because of the layout.

Ozibird

I have read census info for this family from 1841 - 1901
I was not sure of information as above on James and Margaret's wedding or where they were born or correct date of birth for Lillias. Was not having much information on earlier events, by working backwards.

Thanks

Lea

please delete your other Tait posting and add it to this one - as you know, duplicates are not allowed by GR

In your other thread you referred to great efforts by members that found parents Margaret and James.

Where is that thread now? And why not just continue there, where all the background information is available to anyone trying to help further?

I have thanks
I am new to posting threads and didn't realise

I trust you made note of the information I offered you in that other thread, which wasn't acknowledged, as far as I saw.

I still wonder what may have become of the earlier thread you seemed to be referring to at the beginning of it, when you mentioned efforts made by members here in the past to find information.

Leathen Report 21 Sep 2010 00:46

I have deleted the other thread because I was unaware that duplicating was not allowed as I am fairly new to these boards, This is the only thread I have been working from, When I say found Margaret and James, I meant that there has been more information found, sorry for confusion.I will continue now from this page for all further information. Thankyou for your assistance in helping me to know the right way to go about posting!
Much appreciated
I really do value any information provided and I am sorry for not being quicker to acknowledge and thankyou for your information from my now deleted other post. I would never want anyone to feel that I do not sincerely value everyone's contribution to my posts. I deleted the other post immediately after finding out it was not the right way to do things, so did not acknowledge your contribution there, I thought I would post it here instead.
Thanks again

I appreciate your efforts.

Could this be your James's death? If so it will give his parents' names if the informant knew the details.

You searched for: Surname: "Tait"; Surname Option: Exact; Forename: "James"; Forename Option: Prefix; Sex: "Any"; Year From: 1855; Year To: 2009; Birth Year: 1783; Birth Year Range: 10; County: PEEBLES; District: INNERLEITHEN;

1 1877 TAIT JAMES M 95 INNERLEITHEN /PEEBLES 762/00 0058

If it was me, I would spend the credits on Scotlandspeople to have a look at that death. The birth year ties in with the James on the 1841 census that I posted earlier.

EDIT

Please note the amendment to my posting on this thread - 18th September 2010 13:37

Gosh, I have probably put too many line spaces in here!

I spend a lot of time on Scotland's people gathering documents and searching and with everyone's help can now search further yay!!!!!!, it can sometimes be hard working backwards with minimal detail and so have only really had to post now for any help, as I prefer to try and find people myself first and only ask for help when really needed as I am sure there are others out there that need more help as they might not have much to go on.. My mum and I have been able to find so much, we are so excited
thanks again

I tried accessing Janey's thread to no avail, it told me the details may not be correct when I entered it into my browser. I thank you though for passing on the link, I copied the information down anyway from the deleted post.

thanks

Lea.

Note: I was unaware that using a different portal required a different entry as I am new to all of this. Janey's link would work for other people, just not me as I put in the wrong address

rootgather had no need at all to pitch a fit and delete the information from your thread. Totally uncalled for.

The thread where I reproduced it is:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1241362

If you are using a different portal, you will have to replace the
.co.uk
with
.co.za or .co.nz
or whatever portal you are using.

I'm still wondering whether you had a thread *before* this one and the deleted duplicate ... and if so where it went ...

I am sure that rootgatherer was just trying to avoid anyone else finding it hard to read (as you did) so with best intentions felt it best to delete it so it would not cause a problem. I was not annoyed by rootgatherer's actions as I am sure if I posted information and it was not clear to some people then I would probably remove it or change it too, and rootgatherer did leave a link to your copy of it for people to find, and probably presumed that I was the only one interested at the moment in the information. I had copied it down already so it didn't inconvenience me, Had you not so kindly reproduced it, I am sure that if anyone else wanted the information they would have left a post asking where it went, and I would have provided further information if needed. I sincerely appreciate rootgatherer for leaving your link details and for you in your efforts in reproducing it and leaving the details of where to find it for those of us who are new to posting and were not aware of inability to access it due to particular changes in address according to your location.
As noted I presume that you are not related to these people so your effort is over and above and I thankyou for that.
This thread is my first and only thread for these people it contains all the information that I had available. The one I deleted that you saw and replied to was immediately deleted by me as it was not following guidelines. There was no other post apart from this one and the deleted one. Now I am aware of the guidelines I will post in one place from now on. Sorry for not making myself clearer in my last reply about posting.
Thankyou once again to you all for your efforts

You will note that Janey has kindly attached the details for convenience, thanks again for your information and your efforts in making sure that after you deleted the information that anyone still wanting to find it had access, I did not find it a problem as I had copied it down and was most appreciative of your time and effort with this search.
I am most grateful for everyone's efforts, I am not fussed by how information is presented.

thanks again
