Garry Report 10 Sep 2010 03:49

Received some information regarding distant relatives from my still living aunt in England.
Regarding Eric Raymond Summers b 1905 she says, . . "he had a sister Mabel and a brother Bill . . .we used to stay with uncle Bill at Boughton, Northampton."
So . . .the best birth records I can find for Mabel is Mabel Clara S Summers Towcester Sep 1907 3b 9 and Bill as William Leslie Summers Towcester Sep 1909 3b 11 and . .. and I can't find either one in the 1911 census.

Anyone do better than that it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Garry

SUMMERS ERIC RAYMAN M 1906 5 Towcester Northamptonshire

Makes the "living with" search easy. ;)

SUMMERS JOHN 1849 62
SUMMERS SEELINA 1850 61
SUMMERS THOMAS 1877 34

It would help if you could tell us the children's parents' names -- or is that what you're looking for?

If Thomas is their father (I don't pay to access details), possibly he was widowed and the younger children were with maternal grandparents?

Wrong one, jax -- I tried that one first. ;)

Worked from the death backward to the marriage, actually.

Garry, like the other 99%, didn't read the guidance post pinned at the top of the (complete, not "surname") TTF board, and posted and ran, it seems ...

BRICE PERCIVAL 1877 34
BRICE GERTRUDE 1905 6
BRICE MABEL F 1904 7

Interesting because Mabel Brice is accounted for in births in Towcester but there's no William Brice born anytime around then, anywhere around there.

Might there be a connection with the Brice family, and they were caring for the youngest?

Marriages Jun 1903
Brice Percival Towcester 3b 52

Well, they could have fudged ... ;)

There really isn't a Brice birth to fit -- check FreeBMD, surname Brice, Towcester, 1908-1911, or William Brice, anywhere -- not for miles around.

Garry has posted a new thread to us. I've explained Reply.

It's the most badly-designed, badly managed website / discussion board in the western world, in two centuries.

I have to give up on William for now; nearly midnight here in Canuckistan and work to finish for the a.m.

I'll let jax shoot down my William Brice theory definitively and find her own William Summers. ;)

btw, Garry -- in your spare thread, you said you had all the info on Eric Raymond.

Well you see, we didn't, and you didn't give it to us. And we needed it.

The fact that his father was a widower was a crucial bit of info. I had to find Eric in the 1911 in order to see that that was a strong likelihood, then find the mother's death, then the parents' marriage, then hunt for a Mabel living with the maternal grandparents ...

Just for future ref. Always give complete info.

Oops, I didn't see page 2 till I posted this.

Effete Central Canuckistan. Our SyviaInCanada, a regular here, is in lotusland, but she's off frolicking at her cottage or cabin or whatever you call them out there this week.

I have got to get some work done ...

Anyone look up for me please the death of Eric Raymond Summers.

He ws born April 5, 1905 Towcester, Northampton to mother Julia Doris Summers (Mackerness) and father John Thomas Summers.

The only death I can find on BMD is 6 d 1392 Warwick Q2

Anyone come up with anything different?
