Hi Angela

I think this is Emma's husband from the 1871 census, a Butler at Bitterne Grove. His employer is a Railway Proprietor. The name has been spelt incorrectly once again.

Tough one to read. Does William's occupation look like "footman" or am I being influenced by later data??

Hi Guys
I think Ive found the death of William Stote 1865 can anyone tell me if they think this is right.

Andrew

Andrew Report 11 Jan 2010 22:00

Hi angela.

I don't think the 1865 death is the William married to Emma, as he is still alive in 1871. By 1881 Emma is a widow, so this death might be him, but the age is way out.

The only way to tell is to buy the cert see the details.

In 1871 Emma is shown as married and 'Butlers wife', so is not a widow.

Thanks Andrew you are right again I had the wrong census when Emma was a widow it was 1881. The dates of the death you found the age is wrong so ill keep searching ,although you have the right area.
