Could these be Maurice's brother/sister? Mothers maiden name is Curwain. After 1911 the mothers maiden name is listed on the index |

Regarding Maurice birth, he could have been born end of Dec 1910 and registered in the New Year. You had six weeks to register a birth. Births are registered by quarters. |

I'm assuming she was still using the surname Preator when she married my father, but am not sure. She and her previous husband had my Eldest brother, Anthony Maurice Preator DoB 03.01.1963. He changed his name (though not officially) to Stone when my mum married my dad. |

it could possibly be, I think his birthday was actually either 18.12.1910 or 18.09.1910. It could possibly be him if there was a delay or mix up of some sort, or maybe he just fibbed about being a toyboy? |

Well you have your grandads birth ref above to work on for his side/ancestry. Buy it from GRO online for £7. |

Why did your father change his name? |

As to whether he was married before, I'm not sure. My mum told me years ago that she always suspected he'd had a previous relationship and possibly children from comments he made but it was never outrightly discussed |

My Mother was born 04.12.1941 and it was her second marriage - I don't even know where they married! It's just so frustrating not being able to find anything that even looks like them to try and investigate any deeper! |
