where did you get his birth place and date from?
googling Halton Park gives it as the historic of of the Green Howards in Wilts

Halton Yorkshire is close to Whitkirk which is in the reg district of Hunslet

Hi Brian, the census was taken on 31st March 1851 which says he was single, so if he married Helen ,Ellen Mar 1851 where was she in 1851.
