I am trying to trace details of Arthur soar, born c1835. Believed to have lived in Ipswich and worked as a tailor. He had at least three sons, Alfred, Arthur and William born between 1854 and 1859.

Hello Linda, I have just seen your 'Trying to find' message and may be able to help you. I have been collecting Sore/Soar data for some while, especially concentrating on East Anglia and East London where my ancestors originated.
Although not my relations I do have details of Arthur Thurston Soar b A/J 1854 Ipswich marrying Ellen Mary Dawes b c1835 Foxhall,Suffolk. They had Arthur c1877 and William c1880 and all living in Colchester in 1881/91. I also have some sketchy details of Alfred THURSTON Soar b J/M 1880 West Ham. With the second name Thurston there may be a link.

I am on holiday now for most of October, but if you'd like more info let me know. My database now covers almost 5000 pieces of Soar/Sore info for the area.
