Trying to find Smith

Lesley Report 14 Dec 2004 02:06

I am looking for any information of my paternal grandfather (Harry Smith). He married Florence Elizabeth (Fanny) Wakelam but i have no date. There were five children from this union.......Florence Victoria May,known as May, Harry Leslie, known as Les, Ivy Lilian, known as Lil, Albert James (my father), sometimes called Jimmy and George Douglas, known as Doug. Unfortunately all are deceased. I have a birth certificate of my father, it states Registration District - Kings Norton Birth in the Sub-district of Kings Norton in the County of Worcester He was born 14th September 1911. The certificate also states his family were living at 41 North Road,Selly Oak, Northfield, Kings Norton and the occupation of his father, at that time, was Motor Tyre Maker (Journeyman). I also have a school report of my father for grade 5. It is from St. Wulstan's School, Hubert Road, Bournbrook and it is for the term ending Feb 1923 with his age as 11 years. Perhaps this information maybe useful in finding anything. Apparently there were friends or relatives (i am not sure which), who lived at 114 Enfield Road, Hunt-End, Redditch, Worcestershire and my father often talked about them . One name was George Court. I am hoping this may ring a bell with anyone who might read this
