Hallo trying to find family of John Smith, born 16 April 1862 in Ridgwell, parents William Smith and Sarah Robinson. John married Jessie Ford on 27 June 1886 in Kensington London. There were possibly the following children: William born abt 1887, Arthur, born 2 Apr 1889, Frederick, born abt 1892, Harry born abt 1896 and Janet born about 1898. John Smith had a brother Harry, he came to New Zealand in 1874 in the care of a lady called Ellen Butler Bartrup and possibly Harry's half sister, Susannah was with them too. Harry came to New Zealand as his mother Sarah had died of smallpox on 1 November 1871. Would love to make contact with any Smith relatives. Val Read |
