Hi all, I am trying to find info on my wife,s grandmother to enable us to progress with our joint family trees.Grandmother was called SARAH SMITH (married name) and was born in1864 and at the time of the 1901 census was living at SEAHAM HARBOUR, DURHAM where she ran a fish &chip &coffee shop. Her husband was a FREDRICK SMITH who was a merchant seaman ( he was lost at sea during the 1914-18 war when his ship was torpedoed. This the all info that we have on him). Sarahs family in 1901 was as follows ,ADA 17, FRANCES, 15 PETER 13, STANLEY 11, SIDNEY 5, LENA 3, SARAH 1. There also followed REUBEN,(my wifes father) FREDRICK and ELIZABETH (PEGGY). After the death of her husband,we are told that Sarah lost the will to go on and took to her bed and died. The family were then raised by the eldest daughter Ada. I would also like to know Sarahs maiden name if anyone can help . From 1901 Sarah livrd lived Seaham,Sunderland, Seaham & Southwick Durham . Hoping some body can help, Frank Hobbs.
