John Ellington Smith was born about 1841 somewhere in Cambridgeshire England. On 12 June 1881, in Wellington NEW ZEALAND he married Mary Ann Hunt, of Manchester, England. By 1885 they were in New South Wales (Australia). I am a descendant of their daughter Rebecca born 1891 who married George Dennis Chapple born 1883. I have hit a brickwall with SMITH, and would really like to know more about the significance of 'Ellington', his second name. I have a great deal of information to share about his Aussie descendants, and would appreciate any contacts. Cheers, FROM THE LAND DOWN UNDER.
