I am trying to find details about my maternal grand parents who lived at the beginning of their marriage in Salford,Manchester. Nanna was called Elizabeh (LIZZIE) Smith before marriage and I think she was of Irish extract and was a Roman Catholic. She married a George Duttonwho was C.of E. Nanna had a sister ,Sarah and grandpa had two sisters called i think Edith and Doris. Elizabeth and George had 7 children but two died in infancy. They moved to Coventry after the 1st world war with the electronic firm Connor, which later became the G.E.C. The children who survived were Betty, Annie, George, John and Margaret. John was killed during a bombing raid on Coventry. I am the daughter of Annie. |
